Comment:

this is digital (11110). i took a break from the "very sinister xmas" tapes to make a tape for the woman who cuts my hair, since she asked for a mix and am getting my haircut tomorrow morning. anyway, since SueEW clued us all in to tapes being "stretched" when they are recorded upon for the first time, i've become decent at guessing what i can fit on tapes and what i can't--this mix features virtually no dead space on either side at the end. lots of personal faves on this one...tracks by girlfriendo, stars, the left banke and flying burrito brothers stand out in particular...

Looks so listenable from start to finish. Love the Smiths choice, Field Mice and Magnetic Fields. I don't know Burrito Brothers, but I will look them up.

The Smiths song is one of my all-time favorites. I always loved that line, too...great title choice.

Yeah, I forgot to say that the Smiths song is one of my favorite old-school mixtape openers from way back *and* it's my favorite Smiths song and one of my favorite singles of all-time. :-) Oh yeah, that's a great line, too.

What!? You chose "This Charming Man" over "Hairdressers On Fire"?! And where's Beck's "Devil's Haircut"? and the Cowsills' "Hair." At least you had the presence of mind to use "Cut Your Hair." Okay, I'm just being mean. This is a lovely mix, and I'm sure your haircut will be too.

I must have missed this one - wow, I get credit in the comments section! I feel very honored. My hairdresser does know what I listen to (she's a mobile hairdresser - so she comes to my house, and has seen and heard a lot of my record collection) but she doesn't like any of it!
