Comment:

Lots of decent rap and really good indie, and one good techno track. Unfortunately this mix doesn't flow as good as the previous ones (most noticeably in the Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth ---> 808 State ---> Bratmobile section) In the end I only decided to lead off with Redman 'cause he says "(19)92" a lot in this particular track, and chose Cracker to end it because I felt oddly compelled to close this one on a sardonic note.

UPDATE, 12-18-02: I drastically improved the whole flow of the mix (even though I had to dig up a James Brown cover by the semi-obscure third-wave ska-oids the Toasters to do it) and found out how great a pop band No Doubt could be ten years ago. (And though people consider them 1993 singles, I'm almost completely sure that the Dre and Pharcyde tracks were released in '92.)

This is the best one yet...maybe I just think that because it's the year of my musical maturity. I especially applaud the inclusion of Superchunk, kinda scary that they been around that long though.

one of the best years of my life
in music..1992, good years for punk and hip-hop.
this is an awesome mix Nate, but one appearance per artist..that means no Beasties in '92, the Check Your Head album..but that's just my musical awakening, after years of hip-hop loving, seeing the beasties
live cover of "stand up" by minor threat on the check your head tour had venture into hardcore.

These are excellent. You use a nice mix of genres, and are making me think of my teen years, but in a good way. Cool.
