Comment:

This is the year I graduated but I'm pretty sure none of these songs were played at my prom. Not like I went to prom anyways, being a slacker-ass goofball with Cobain hair who liked to make ultra-cheesy kung-fu films in TV Productions class. A surprising number of hits here on both sides of the Atlantic.

UPDATE, 12-18-02: Bye-bye Roots (to return on the upcoming "2002: For Kids Worried About the Apocalypse"), hello Goodie Mob/Mobb Deep/Moby. Did Nova Mob release an album this year?

If I had to pick one so far, this would be it. Matthew Sweet, the Lips, Underworld, the Chemical Brothers, Oasis. I even like the 2Pac track. To paraphrase Pulp, what exactly can you do for an encore?

Christ, we're getting into the period that makes me feel old - I still think of all this stuff as "new music!"

Can't remember if you had Matthew Sweet on the 1991 mix, thats we I think he had the greatest impact, with "Girlfriend" - the best power pop album ever recorded.

Just the fact that you graduated from high school this year makes me feel ancient!
