When delayed pedal steel guitarist Henry Frayne e-mailed me back in September about his new release: "Elm Street" I jumped right to Parasol records' web site and snatched it up! His guitar treatment work is absolutely intoxicating. This is his follow up to the album Lanterna, (see the 1st mix posted on my mix-page) of 3 years ago. I've been playing around with the sequencing on this one for over a month 1/2 now-pulling down specific mp3 files & getting the mix "just right". Splendiferous, gorgeous and awash with textured sound-scapes...
Feedback:
Looks amazing, as usual. How sad am I that I cannot hear it... I may just have to go buy a walkman just for these mixes... There is so much music here that I have never heard, but I trust Mr. Labs knows his space.
yep, i'm pretty clueless on most of this too, but any time song titles can be strung together to produce little poetics like "breaking water drift departures / slides western isle of apples" or "bombay wolves early bird dog days" or "red wind rain river," it's gotta be good stuff.
...I just treated myself early, for Christmas, with the latest Sony digital walkman...like a custom built pillow for cassettes...has noise reduction circuitry built in for very low volume 'hisssssss', and some cool press-button sound features; that & a pair of wrap around headphones and.....ahhhhhhhh!!
Haiku....., pur an' simple! Apologies for not having seen this before....I think I joined in Late December....and was hesitant at the onset to offer commentary.....mmm, this is, as you say, "absolutely intoxicating!"
