As much as I love Morrissey, he really did lose steam after the demise of the Smiffs, unfortunately. Although he did have some great songs, like "suedehead".
Oh, Sue, I do value your taste and comments, but I have to argue a bit. While the Smiths had so few misses, Moz's solo work has not been as weak as you seem to imply. Morrissey mix CD's seem somewhat of an interesting undertaking, seeing as how he has collected and recollected his own work (the work of the record company? the result of the english proclivity toward singles?) so often.
