The best, or at least the most popular, hard rock and metal of 1983. Volume 4 of the Butt-Rock Canon.

In 1983, the British Metal revival was waning, and L.A. Metal hadn't yet taken over. The new wave influence (read "wussy production") was obvious on many songs, and the biggest metal guitar solo of the year showed up on an R&B crossover hit from a former boy band member. Yikes!
