The best, or at least the most popular, hard rock and metal of 1991. The twelfth and final volume of the Butt-Rock Canon.When I think of music from 1991, I usually think of those other guys from Seattle. Each poorly-enunciated syllable out of Kurt Cobain's mouth was another nail in the coffin of Metal As We Knew It. It ended with a whimper, not a bang -- but what a whimper, as the strings soar over Axl's lament to close the glory years of butt-rock.
