Comment:

this is digital (100011). yet ANOTHER "very sinister xmas" tape. (i promised i'd make 10--2 more to go!) sometimes i'm amazed at where a tape will take me just from that first song. i don't think that i ever would make a tape that started with a woody guthrie tune but still managed to showcase more bobby wratten than you can shake a stick at. sometimes i worry that i rely on "old standards" for me--bob dylan, the lucksmiths, field mice/npl/tbs, the softies, belle and sebastian...and then for some reason the swingin' medallions show up on a mix and i think maybe i'm wrong...

Cool stuff, Brandt. So what if you use some of the same artists... it doesn't matter as long as the mixes keep working out well. :-)

I love the luckies song this title comes from. Good stuff, Brandt. And don't worry about using a lot of the "old standards" as your "standards" are pretty damn good.

old standards are like letters in yr own personal alphabet - infinite configurations revealing new ideas. like mr. conroy and sue already pointed out, what matters is that you continue to find new and interesting things to "say" with your combinations. yes, i've been smoking a lot of pot today (guilty shrug). anyway, this looks like yet another stellar mix. i can only hope to someday receive the one you were going to make for me....

has anyone else noticed that the luckies songs that tali writes (beer nut being a classic example) are always a little bizarre, and completly different to the donald/monnone thing... or was that just a rosie observation. old standards, if they are good old standards (like yours) are the best. lovely mix!

Great job with this one (and with most of them, from what I've seen). I'd love to get a copy of this.
