Comment:

this is a mix for SueEW. it's pretty. i especially wanted her to hear empress, viva satellite and sweet william. and i had to include the gratuitous lucksmiths song which she's probably already got but it's JUST. SO. GOOD! :)

Jaime, this looks awesome!! Actually, I *don't* have the Luckies "myopic friends" song - and I'm so looking forward to hearing it. The rest of this tape looks fine and dandy - with lots of stuff I don't know, but I'm sure will love! By the by, your tape is going in the mail this am - I promise! (I've told my co-worker to remind me to go before lunch, or else!) Ooh, I just noticed the orangutang song - I used to love that when I lived in Boston!

myopic friends was supposed to be on a lucksmiths 7" that was being released in the UK (i haven't seen it offered anywhere domestically though) or at least that was what mark monnone told me when i commented how much i loved the song during their live set in cleveland. but according to candle, the luckies are releasing another Luckies singles/rarities comp in march 2002. i assume it will be on that. oh and jaime, which CD out of 100 did you get of laura's ep? (i got #3! whoo! i'm #3!:) great mix, as always.

myopic friends is on the b-side of the 'greatest hits' cassingle revival.. cassingle. frankly, i think myopic friends deserved a-side, i do hope they release it on cd as i'm getting tired of ffwd/rewinding just to listen to it forty times in a row. oh brandt: i've got #21 - my lucky number :mwah:

I wish I was familiar with more of these bands, but I'm sure they're all great. I think you both made out on this trade.

Let's hope for more luckies stuff in '02 - woohoo! Apparently, they are meant to come back to Perth in the summer (at least that's what they said last March) - so hopefully they'll be here soon!
