i began a mix tape for vince since we'd promised to get eo st nicholas presents and he'd gotten me some comic books (the first series of gen13 in a book -- super cool) so i had to hold up my end of the bargain but, having no money i made him a tape instead. it was really intimidating to try and make - cos i know he likes power pop, he likes punk a little, he likes emo.. but i dunno, making a tape for someone who likes power pop is so, so foreign to me. i mean i've got lots of stuff like that, but i'm so unfamiliar with it it's difficult to put something together. and i've got to be familiar with the music to feel good about the tape and make it all congruent. i began it power pop but ended up just going with the timeless classics. grandaddy, muse, radiohead, manics. i figure, there's always time to make him more tapes. hell i must have made like 7 for charley over the course of.. over the course. so, yeah. i dunno. yup.
