Comment:

this is digital(100111). a tape for kelly wright, one of the fabulous wright sisters. her sister mandee is a recipient of the "very sinister xmas tapes" and her sister leslee is a friend of mine from grad school. so i figured i'd make a tape for all three of them. this one has a loosely based "rock n roll tragedy" theme to it, since my friend liz told me that mandee and kelly started a band and that they all play strange instruments (like the oboe.) anyway, the wright sisters all have immaculate tastes in music so i'm sure they'll already know everything on these tapes...

nice mix, specially the unrest & smiths songs. also, is 'chords of fame' a cover of the daniel johnston song?

Another stellar mix Brandt. "Chords of Fame" is a song by Phil Ochs. I'm not sure if Daniel Johnston covered it as well.

damn, brandt, this is amazing. i'm afraid to see what level you take your mixes to once your turntable gets rehabilitated.

Very fine, indeed. I think we should call Ion "rock god jr", as he always seems to know his stuff!

"Chords of Fame" *was* covered by Daniel Johnston & Jad Fair on their "It's Spacey" album. And Ion is right, it *is* a Phil Ochs tune. :-)
