Comment:

Part One in a five part series detaling New York area hip-hop borough by borough.
This is where it all started...DJ Cool Herc in the parks, Cold Cruch Brothers being ripped off by the Sugarhill Gang, KRS-One settin' it straight. Headz from nearby Mount Vernon (Pete Rock and CL Smooth, Brand Nubian) droppin some science, and never settling.

Nearly 24hrs & no comments? Perhaps the accusations of hip-hop apathy amongst fellow AotM'ers is true. At any rate, this is an ambitious & well deserved undertaking & Erick's just the mix-guru I'd expect to get it done right. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.

Hey lo-fi jr,
Moonshine and I have long figured where hip hop stands in the AotM grand scheme of things. Nicely done indeed!!!

This is impressive. Props for most of the songs, the depth, and The Bridge Is Over.

This is a very well done Bronx specific rap mix. It's got deep cuts and big hits. Really inspiring.

nice work here...download would be sweet...also, Slick Rick (by way of Mitcham), Nice and Smooth, and T La Rock are worthy contemporaries
