Comment:
This is a 3-CD set, separated into three "lessons" as shown in the track list. There are a number of levels to the Yes catalog. There's the easily digested poppier stuff, and there's the neo-classical prog epic stuff, and there's the stuff in between. A mix that follows "Owner of a Lonely Heart" with "Close To The Edge" isn't going to be effective due to the extreme contrast. So instead I ease the listener in with the first disc, which gets him or her used to their sound without challenging the brain too much. Disc two begins to introduce them to the more intricate arrangements. Disc three is the stuff that will probably take a while to absorb fully. The last track is really just there for irony. :) I made the mix for my mother about two months ago (she listens to very cool music) and so far she's into the second disc but hasn't yet started in on the third.
Feedback:
awesome! a lot of effort and creativity in this mix... i only know yes from the radio stuff, but this makes me want to look further. good job.
Inspired stuff. Yes aren't a favourite of mine, but I used to think they had some good moments (ages since I last played anything by them, though, so don't know how I'd react to them now). This looks like an ideal way to introduce someone to them...
A well thought out approach to a band that isn't everyones cup of tea. I've seen them 11 times (from '77 to '84) but don't own anything on CD. Nicely done.

Wow. Very well done.
