Comment:

The first song on the first (major) album by these artists. Yes, I know some aren't truly the first albums, but they are the first to make a major impact (and they were the only CD's I had). I thought it would be interesting to look back on how artists choose to introduce themselves to the world and hook us in. In many cases, the song is a major milestone in music and often the best (or at least among the best) songs a band has to offer.

Yes, this is an interesting concept. The first song on any album (especially a debut) really has to grab the listener, and will often end up being the best song. The Stone Roses' "I Wanna Be Adored" and Cheap Trick's "Elo Kiddies" also come to mind, but they're obviously hundreds more.
