Led by ex-Miles Davis sideman Chick Corea, Return to Forever stands as one of fusion's premier practitioners. [i]Romantic Warrior[/i] is generally regarded as the apex of RTF's career, as it was the group's best-selling release (although it was the [i]No Mystery[/i] album that won the band its only GRAMMY®). On "Majestic Dance," a young Al Di Meola plays guitar like a rock god, and the ensemble sounds more like prog rockers than you'd expect, given their jazz origins. Return to Forever started out life as a composition, then the title track for a Chick Corea album, then a sort of Latin-inflected group, but ultimately became one of the '70s' premiere jazz-fusion ensembles.
