Comment:

Okay, so I had to cheat a bit on this one... apparently (as it occasionally does), my brain left my body yesterday while I did Vol. 1 of this mix and I left off some bands alphabetically (notably Butthole Surfers, Buzzcocks, the Didjits, Embrace, Giant Sand, the Go-Go's, and the Jam); however, instead of re-doing Vol. 1, I just added them here (while triple-checking my collection to make sure no more were skipped). Despite the amusing/annoying way that five "Mi" bands start the mix, I've got to say it works for me.

I get to be the first to comment on a Rob Conroy mix - Merry Christmas! There are quite a few things on here that I really like. As with any two people's tastes there are a few I find unappealing, and I'm not sure who one band is. Can you guess?? Thanks for the feedback too, Rob.

Looks good Rob, I was kidding about the Depeche Mode comment on your last mix, but I think you already know that. More great choices here--J&MC, Pastels, Pixies, Minutemen, etc. The absence of the Police surprises me a bit, but I'm sure you have a reason for it.

Again, fantastic. Excellent choices with the Minutemen, Minor Threat, the Pixies, all the other bands, etc. Fine work.

Thanks, folks. :-) Ashley: I'm going to guess that the band that you're "not sure" about is either the Milkshakes, the Didjits or Embrace. And *of course* there's a reason that the Police aren't on here, Ion: Sting = Satan. ;-) Actually, the stuff of theirs that I like best is pre-'80 and I don't have "Driven to Tears", so...

this is even tastier than the first rob--i am especially impressed by your pastels selection :) and to be nice i won't complain that you missed one of the greatest 80s bands EVER--the field mice. ;)

In repsonse to The Police question. Rob, the answer is easy....Sting(k) is the proper pronunciation.

You're right Rob. I checked the release dates of the Police's first two (and best IMO) albums, and both came out in 1978 and 1979 respectively. I will never question the content of your mixes again.
