Comment:
I'm a sucker for lightweight pop stuff, etc., so imagine the amount of courage it took for me to post this here among the Sigur Roses and Death Cabs For Cuties. Heh heh. These are some of my favorite singles/tracks from 2001. Being that I'm one of about 500 U.S. music critics (i.e., pompous ink-stained wretches) who vote in the annual Village Voice (N.Y.) Pazz and Jop Poll, 10 of these will probably get my votes for best single/track. I'll go further out on a limb and predict Elton John will be nominated for Album of the Year when the Grammy nominations come out Friday, Jan. 4. Not because it's such a great record (it's actually not bad) but more because Grammy voters will gravitate again to major pop figures who have been ignored by the awards previously. (The last three AOTY Grammys have gone to Bob Dylan, Santana and Steely Dan). U2 probably will win the category this year, though. OK, the limb has snapped and I am falling ...Feedback:
At least you didn't use any teen pop. Some good stuff here.
ROCK ON for the courage it took, ;-) Good stuff
