Comment:
the name pretty much gives it away. these are all bands that i think, whether they realize it or not, are influenced by a truly great artist, Jeff Buckley. Lume and Bullets of Orange are both bands local to Nashville. watch out for them in the future.Feedback:
Very nice concept and very true with most of these bands....respectfully have to disagree with the Chris Cornell and Chris Whitley selections though...both of them were around long before Jeff was and haven't changed all that much since they began. Can't say I agree with the Sparklehorse choice either, as Mark Linkous is an entity unto himself and himself only.
Geoff, you sure are one opinionated fuck aren't you? Cornell and Whitley have both been were around before Buckley, and befriended him and have claimed he has influenced thier work since. Mark Linkous has cited Buckley's influence in later work as well. I guess, based upon your vast comments on this site, you can only find fault with others in your "special" condesending way. Basically, you are one fucking asshole .
Uh, yeah..... Anyway. Really, really good idea there. Kudos.
Geoffrey Holland,
I don't know about you being an asshole (after all, you did respectfully disagree), but I'm going to have to stick to my choices. It's also true that Cornell and Whitly both befriended Buckley and he influenced their later work. I don't know much about Sparklehorse, but I certainly hear Buckley in some of their music.

No matter what Geoff says, this is still good!
Hey Geoff! Why you now calling yourself Geoffrey? I can't see how you can mature any more, you being the elder and painfully 'eclectic' musical statesman. I expect you'll now send me another hilarious email (I quote "what's your problem...you fucking wanker". Buddy, I laughed for a few days at that. My stomach hurt for weeks. I've no idea why you were so angry and why you thought I was "looking for you" [??????what does that mean?????]. It is all banter at the end of the day) What in sweet moses am I talking about that for. This is a nice mix.
i completely agree, especially with the travis selection. nice mix--love the radiohead song.
Looks pretty good... though I can honestly say I no next to nothing about JB... other than the fact that
this girl put Last Goodbye on a mixtape she gave me a few years ago (a not too subtle hint? It took me about 18 months to figure it out). Anyway, good job.
