Comment:

This cd was made because of a request to find a song that I normally would never include on a mix (the Marilyn Manson cover of "Suicide Is Painless"). The person who asked is a girl I am very interested in (despite her handicap of loving Manson!). I never cared for Brian Warner or his band, though they do consistantly do perform decent covers (until the abysmal "Tainted Love"). Anyway, since giving one song on a cd is really cheesey (unless it is 74 mins long or repeated 42 times just cuz you're a bastard), I made this mix... We both have a wide variety of musical influences that don't often overlap...her's are geared toward psych rock and hippie jam bands and mine is more industrial and dark indie rock. I tried to select tunes that straddled the line between our tastes or had personal references we'd understand. This cd took me longer to figure out than ones I've made in the past. Not because of feelings toward her, but because she is a much different audience than anyone else I have done this for! -- cheers!

Cool mix. I also have trouble making mixes for people who have differing tastes than mine. Too bad about her liking hippie jam bands & m. manson, but if you like her, don't let that stand in your way. Good luck.

yep, making mixes for people with vastly different tastes can be tricky, but i would still rather do that than make stuff for people who don't really care about what they listen to. indifference drives me crazy! nice mix, by the way.

well, your taste appears unimpeachable at least. although i have a few guilty pleasures i might not like to confess.
