Comment:
This is basically an indie rock romance mix, but there were enough non-message, just cool sounding songs on the tape to push it out of the Romance category. The mix was made as a birthday present for my girlfriend a mere week after I got together with her, so there was lots of pressure to get it right. And apparently I was successful. She's trying to get into more indie rock, so I basically tried to include things she hadn't heard (but I thought she'd like), as well as cater to her old tastes such as Jazz (the Radiohead/Coltrane segue). Other songs were ones that I thought were important to us getting together (for me at least) and she hadn't heard yet. I'm glad that unlike romantic mixes I've made in the past, this one knows how to rock (Pixies, Flaming Lips).Feedback:
Nice work! Some of my favorite songs are included here- Cherry Chapstick, NYC-25 and both the XTC songs. I would have yelled at you if you didn't include the DOS song!
very cool.
I'm late on this, but this mix rules. Especially the Jeff Mangum Phil Spector cover, it is too perfect.
Nice. A healthy dose of elephant six always a good idea.
