Comment:

this is digital (101110). a mix for my friend meridith, who asked my girlfriend if i would make her a mix featuring bands and songs from Wes Anderson films. So that's the loose theme here--bands and songs from Wes Anderson films or songs you would expect to hear in a Wes Anderson film. i decided to not put "Everyone" by Van Morrison on this mix, because i think it's been appearing on too many of my mixes as of late...

this is a nice mix. i like wes anderson films very much. i saw royal tenenbaums this weekend and i liked it a lot. i really liked the usage of elliot smith's needle in the hay during that movie. it is a good song.

Cool Brandt. Wes Anderson's soundtracks have inspired more than a few of my mixes. Glad to see someone else getting a spark from them.

another fantastic mix with a theme to match--i think royal tenenbaums was one of the most humbling films i've seen of late/

Excellent Brandt! I'm dragging my girfriend to see Royal Tenenbaums after I endured Harry Potter with her last weekend. I once met a woman at a party whose job it was to compile songs for movie soundtracks. Talk about a dream job!

Great job, though having the Kinks on this mix would even have made it better. Wes Anderson from the Criterion DVD for "Rushmore" states that he at one point considered only using the Kinks for the movie soundtrack.

so few actual wes anderson movie songs.... jimminy christmas... don't even say it's supposed to be a wes anderson music mix, you just got a few songs out of the way so that, as usual, you could just flex your musical superiority complex...

you know wes anderson inspires music lovers when the only two soundtracks available at the snotty record store in my area are downtown 81 and royal tenenbaums. nice mix, brandt.
