Comment:
First mix of 2002. Title is an inside joke. Compilation/indoctrination thingy for my chum Jay. Just a whole bunch of bands that either have been pretty important to me recently, or very important all along. No real format or theme, but Side 1 is all the SuperHappyFun stuff, and Side 2 is all the noisy/sad stuff. A few bands repeated, but you can never have too much of Pavement, the Pixies or the 3Ds. I have to give this to him soon, because for some reason I'm not satisfied with it, and keep substituting songs and rerecording whole sections of the tape and it's getting pretty mangled and is probably quite unlistenable at this point. Is it healthy to agonize over stuff like this?Feedback:
All killer no filler-- as grandma used to say. Yes it is healthy to agonize over song selection. That's why these things take so dang long to make. It would be a lot easier to throw my 200-disc CD player on random and let it do the work.
heh, a friend and i had a discussion about the merits of using "the modern age" as an opener--i think it's a badass start to a mix; he insists they're good background music. bah. but you're right--never too much pixies or pavement. and i love jsbx and s-k. that's about it. nice.
Yup, it is healthy to agonize over stuff you put on tapes. It means that you care about the music you listen to, which is a really good thing.
some great songs sprinkled throughout.
agonizing is healthy. did you see the moldy peaches open for the strokes like I did and want to just go rock your socks off?
I think you need to send me a copy as well, slug.
Oh, I got something cooking for you slug, don't you worry....heh heh heh
Wow, this mix looks awesome.
