I made this mix for my trip this summer to visit friends in Chicago and Boston. I eventually made copies for all those people in an attempt to get them hooked on Modest Mouse and Death Cab. The "Gimp" thing is a reference to Thom Yorke who has a few entries in this mix. Some of these other bands kind of follow the gimp theme, but some aren't even close...I don't know, I think I was still in shock from the Kid A and Kid B (Amnesiac) cd's, and felt like I should honor the guy for that collection of noise they put together. Anyway, lots of repeat performers, especially The Mouse. Those guys are just too much.

Probably a bit too much repeat performances, although "Amputations" and "Fake Frowns" are really too perfect a duo to split up. I do love the bands you are constantly repeating on here, and your inclusion of Wicked Farleys.
