I have always interpreted it as such , The line that always clued me in was "Your legs are strong and your oh so long and you dont come from this town" But even if its not there are a few tracks here that could be left open for debate , the love & rockets track,Tori Amos' and Garbage all could just be there for my own benefit.

Yeah, I had the same reaction when I read in my book in a rock history class I had in college that All the Young Dudes was a Gay pride anthem..I never really saw it like that before
