i always wanted to make a mix of something i called "the allison set" which was songs about girls named allison. i could only find five though--i did manage to play "the allison set" during my radio show once though back in '99. is that hole song a cover of the material issue song? Brandt- yup. that would be a cover song by Hole. :) I couldn't find the song by the original artist. bah!

there's a band round our way (manchester, UK) called valerie, too. saw them play 3rd on the bill to sleater-kinney one time. they couldn't quite get over being in the same building as S-K, let alone actually supporting them....
