Comment:
I like this concept mix. Basically, the idea is the girl pursues this guy, gets him, screws him, and leaves. It's told from both perspectives(though the voice may be male or female at the wrong time) and you can figure out the rest.
Feedback:
I should probably mention that although the picture is of me, the story is not about me. Just so no one thinks I'm some evil girl.
everything about this is brilliant!! what a marvelous concept!!!!
Yeah, this is definitely interesting and cool. Plenty o' stuff that I love on this, as well. And don't worry, *I* know that you're evil, so you won't fool me. :-)
i'm reminded of a passage from nick hornby's "high fidelity" (a passage that eventually made the cutting room floor in the film--thank god for DVD extras) where rob explains all the horrible stuff he had done to his girlfriend and then tells the reader "think of the 4 worst things you've ever done to someone you professed you loved. good. got it? who's the ass hole now?") we're all noble and at the same time liars and thieves. it's the wonder of humanity really. wonderful, thought provoking mix pam. we need to trade sometime...
Ah, good quote and sentiment, Brandt. However, I would venture to say that there is no way in hell that *all* humanity is noble... I'd agree, though, that the personalities of all "noble" folks feature "liar and thief" components in various shapes and sizes. :-)
Well, I'm glad ou guys like. I was pretty sure that I'd have every guy on here going, "Now, that's what I've been saying all along. Girls are evil." Which we are. We're scheming and evil; boys are just dumb. Well, at least it's not your fault. And Rob, whatever happened to me being one of the sweetest-natured people?
hahaha...i think it's difficult to sum up male/female relations in one sentence pam, but perhaps you've hit it on the head. although i think some men are evil, most are dumb. i think most girls are dumb too. i think we just play it by ear, try not to make too big of an ass of ourselves along the way and try not to hurt anyone in the process (although that latter thing is a toughy). but you should expect the unexpected around these parts--your mix is not an indictment of women as i see it, but instead an indictment of men's ideas of how women SHOULD be. if a man just wants to fuck he's encouraged...if a woman just wants to fuck then she's a whore or a slut. why does the double standard exist, and why is a woman disparaged so when she challenges it? taking this into account, i'd be disappointed if someone's response to this was "girls are evil." that sort of comment totally misses the point. okay, that's two psuedo-intellectual comments from me...time to go add this mix to my favorites :)
Oh, Pam... *slinking up in a shimmery lime-green leisure suit, gold chains a-twinkling* ... that wuz just pillow tawlk, bay-buh... ;-)
a lime green lesidure suit?? i don't even want to know.... nice mix pam, i really like it. as for all this fundak/conroy/steele crazy talking on the comments...well that just scares me!
Very cool mix, Pam. And this girl here doesn't think you're evil :) but I am scared about Rob wearing lime green leisure suits!
I think we're all a little leery of the leisure suit, lime green or no. And Brandt, thank you. Thank you so much. I just see lots of boys mixes for girls on here and they all say something along the lines of "why do girls always do this?" Why do you become a victim, eh? In any case, I've been reading interviews of Kathleen Hanna and other women in punk rock this weekend, so I thought I was having deja vu reading your post. So, yeah, thanks. And I'm glad you don't all think I'm evil.
great great mix, pam. i think a big part of the bitch/heroine dichotomy has to do with finding the courage to protect and nurture your own interests without becoming entirely self-centered or selfish, a distinction that gets kinda hazy sometimes. i think we've all burned people because we were too wrapped up in our own drama, and we've all been courageous for showing some guts by setting healthy boundaries or demanding respect. the girls that walk that fine line between bitch and heroine are often the best kind of girl to know, if you ask me. anyway, anyone who says girls are evil just likes to sulk and pout. great job.
id say bitch.
what a faboo-lous mix!!!! Could I possibly get a copy from you?
Hot Fucking Damn.
