Comment:

Not much to say, other than the standard "this is my favorite 80 minutes" by a band that I've grown to love this past year (I had owned and loved Jamboree years ago, but had traded it eventually due to economic concerns). Last songs cut: "Midnight A Go-Go" and "Teenage Caveman".

there's a beat happening song called Tiger Trap? when was it released? i'd always thought that Tiger Trap got their name from a calvin and hobbes cartoon...

1992. It's the first song on the "You Turn Me On" album.

i love you boys with all your trivia. i have no idea what you're talking about, but i will someday. especially with my library-loaned copy of "the great alternative and indie discography."

Cooler than The Cramps backing up Johnny Cash while on acid.

thanks for the info rob...i think in 1992 tiger trap had already come into being in the sacramento and had already released their first record on K...so maybe that's where Calvin got the inspiration. Oh, coincidentally, i may want a copy of this since my Calvin Johnson familiarity is limited pretty much to dub narcotic and the halo benders. (although i do have one beat happening record buried somewhere...)

thank god somebody decided to give calvin the attention he deserves. no one spazzes out on stage quite like he does. great job, rob.

oh yeah, and i think brandt's got it right - tiger trap (the band) came first and got their name from the comic strip. calvin johnson liked the name so much he used it for a song title. at least i think that's how the story goes.

Pretty bitchin', Rob. As you know, I love BH - like Jonathan Richman with sex appeal. One of the best shows I have ever seen.

good choices there rob--I actually have a ton of the same cuts on my "Leave Yr. Youth Far Behind" mix. very nice, and like I said, it's hard to go wrong with this band. :)
