Part one of an Opera sampler for a friend. She once off-handedly mentioned she was interested in hearing more Opera, which got me thinking and resulted in this tape. Probably a bit of overkill for a little whim she had but I had fun researching it and making it. I wanted to start with portions of some of the earliest known operas and work up to Bel Canto on this volume. I also tried to include as many different types of songs that I could: solos, duos, trios, sextets, etc. Hopefully I covered most of the major composers and gave the giants their due.
