Comment:
the mix i'll be remaking and revising for the rest of my life. already thinking about swapping the U2 song for either the beach boys' "god only knows" or cat stevens' "trouble". we'll see. but here it is, in it's newborn form -- my top twenty songs of all time, the twenty songs i would want to keep me company on a desert island, the cd i would want to own if i could own no other, etcetera. not in any ranked order. i'm proving here how sappy-oldies-station i am deep down inside.Feedback:
There are some lovely picks here, Summer. I'd back up your decision to swap "God Only Knows" for U2 any day of the week, but hey, this is all about your preferences...
since i've recently discovered that the pop music of greatest quality was being made in the years between 1965-1970 you're not going to hear any "sappy-oldies-station" complaints from me. amazing mix.
i love so many of these songs, especially the opener! i have never thought about doing this kind of mix, but maybe i should... ;)
"All I Want Is You" is my favorite U2 song. I don't know wyh that would affect your decision to swap it...
and I don't know why I can't write words.
I'm with Rob - I'd go with "god only knows" but that's just me. Good stuff overall.
I have done a similar thing. It took many months. I came up with a list of 100 songs I always like listening to. I just put my top 25 on here. You have a great selection. I discovered this to be a very personal type of list. Not to be criticized! These are YOUR songs.
