Comment:
someone asked me if they could borrow some velvet underground stuff. i said i would make them a tape. this has all of my favorites on it. cheers!
Feedback:
some great choices on here...looks like you put the self-titled 1969 record in the same place i would (as in--mediocre compared to the other three...although some might argue that Loaded is Lou's first solo LP...)
MEDIOCRE?! My God, Brandt, we are completely at odds on that one. I think that album *totally* towers over the other three...
hahaha. i said mediocre compared to the other three rob. like the work of the Pixies, VU's garbage is most other bands' treasure. and i am starting to come to conclusion that our pantheons of rock are quite dissimilar rob...because after all, you didn't like "the boy with the arab strap"...
The third album is amazing. What Goes On, Pale Blue Eyes, After Hours, Jesus, Some Kinda Love...some not-so-good too (That's the Story of My Life). It's the intimate side of the Velvets, though its John Cale-less-ness probably devalues it in some people's mind. Anyway...great tape.
Album three is good. Personally I think "Loaded" is the dog of the bunch, the well was starting to run dry by then... A neat mix this one, nice to see it concluding with "Sister Ray", without which any Velvets mix is kind of inadequate.
