John Peel's favourite band — he anointed the outfit with the legend "Always different, always the same" — the Fall has been crafting some of the world's most vital, mesmerizing, and, frankly, perplexing rock 'n' roll for three decades. Led since 1977 by the brilliantly gruff Mark E. Smith, the band has undergone around 50 lineup changes yet remains a constant delight.
