Comment:

For Sloan Kohler. Just a batch of songs that I threw together fairly quickly that seemed to gel; bizarrely enough, the mix turned out a bit more "RAWK" than I thought it would, at least for a stretch in the heart of it. Nods to Brandt for hipping me to 14 Iced Bears, to Randy Handfulls for reminding me how great Elmore James was at times, to Sean Lally for his stellar guitar work in the Frampton Brothers and everywhere else, and "The Royal Tenenbaums" for rekindling my dormant interest in Nico. Title (slightly bastardized, I think) from the Pedro tune.

I don't think I've ever been the last to comment on a Conroy mix, and I don't expect that to be the case here either. Looks pretty magnificent sir. Love that Tomorrow track. Wasn't Steve Howe in that band? I guess he went downhill from there!:) Brian B. could have used that Phil Ochs track on his recent mix of long-named songs.

Yeah, that's Steve Howe on the Tomorrow track and yeah, he certainly went downhill... :-) Thanks, folks.

This is great, Rob. Thanks. I'll try to post yours this afternoon, if I have a chance. That is definitely one of my favorite John Cale songs. I can't wait to hear this.

very cool mix, and i have to agree with you on royal tenenbaums affect on me--not only is it now my favorite movie ever, but it has two of the simplest yet most moving songs in the world--nick drake's fly and nico's these days/ also, love the phil ochs song...

Great mix, Rob. Too bad for us in Australia - who knows when the royal tenenbaums flick will be out here :(

A fine job, this one is. A lot of the tracks are not what one would usually expect for the artist (a good thing, course). Excelsior!!

Great Kinks song, of course - one of the highlights of their post-Muswell 70s. The Tomorrow track is classic - have you heard their "Colonel Brown"? I think I like that one more. And I'm not down with these folks who bash Yes at a moment's notice - Tormato is a damned fine album! Heh. What's up with that Frampton Brothers song? You should be ashamed of yourself. Or maybe I should be....
