My obsessive interest in music has only influenced my girlfriend slightly. She like The Hives, and she like The Strokes... the problem is, however, that all my favourite bands aren't accessible through MTV2 or any of the other means of finding new music that she uses. So, this mix is to introduce some of my favourite bands to someone who has never heard them before. Some notable omissions: Joy Division, GYBE!, Dismemberment Plan, Wire, The Clash, Bluetip, Aphex Twin... I couldn't really fit them anywhere. Some songs are used simply to create some cohesion, for example: the transition from Christmas Steps to New Noise is bridged by two instrumentals. The aim for this mix is to have a wide range of bands without appearing TOO eclectic, wierd or daunting.
