Comment:

I guess my passion for and my never ending search for great music started with classic rock. It didn't take me long to know just about all of the tunes they play on the local classic rock station, or for me to own the albums. Soon came the realization that most great music cannot be found on the radio, and so my search began. This mix, however, contains mostly classic rock bands that have survived my ever-changing (expanding?) tastes. Lotsa great groups (some that didn't stay great for long)... some well-known tunes and some lesser knowns betwixt.. and a good bit o' blues. My favorite is Dylan's "Like a Rolling Stone" from the bootleg series at the half acoustic/half electric "Royal Albert Hall" show... someone in the crowd yells "Judas", then Bob retorts "I dont believe you... you're a liar" ... then drummer Mickey Jones comes in with "Play fuckin' louder!" ...after a rollicking run through, the man and his Band finally get the applause they deserve.

The longer I look over this list of tunes, the more I like it. You have some very fine picks here, Rob. I used to have a radio show in college, strictly late 60's - early 70's music, and one semester it was called Unwashed and Somewhat Slightly Dazed. I love that song. You picked my favorite Hendrix song ever, too. Well done.

An excellent mix of classic rock... You strayed far away from some of the "quintessentials" (which I don't really think ARE quintessentials).

Blind Faith, Jimi Hendrix... all essential. You also picked one of my favourite David Bowie tunes (instead of choosing Changes, or Ziggy Stardust or something cliche).
