Comment:
My favorite 80 minutes of an amazing band, as per request of lo-fi. I wound up stopping at "Where You Been", despite my original intentions to cover their whole career; however, upon listening to those last two albums again this evening, I just could not justify including a single song from them over any of the earlier stuff here. There are a million songs that I had to cut: "The Leper", "Quicksand", "In a Jar", "Not the Same", "Just Like Heaven", "Throw Down", "The Wagon", "Water", "Flying Cloud", "Green Mind", "Lose", "Poledo", "Kracked", "Quest", "Don't", "Start Choppin"... the list is seemingly endless.Feedback:
Good job, as always.
dinosaur jr always makes me smile because it reminds me of sitting in my ex girlfriends room talking to her and listening to d jr. that was loads of fun :D
j mascis recently played here in cleveland at the grog shop and was served a coffee by my girlfriend who told him that she had no clue who he was and that he "had an ugly sweater."
Great stuff. It took me a while to get acclimated to the sound of J Mascis's voice, but once I did I was hooked (although hearing their cover of Show Me the Way makes me long for Peter Frampton. That's about the only time I long for Peter Frampton)
it a huge world full of amazeing music i may sound foolish but dinosaur jr are my favorite band of all time more than the beatles, stones, etc listening to them makes me feel so happy to me they're the greatest band ever
Not foolish, Andrew. They were a great band for quite awhile. :-) (Now this doesn't mean I *agree* with you... lol... but it's certainly not "foolish".)
their cover of just like heaven is great! i downloaded almost every cover of it and this is one of the few i kept. lovely mix, yet again, rob.p.s.- rob, if you were going to email me, wait a week since i will be driving cross-country.
awesome, rob.
dinosaur jr was amazing, i've used them on almost every mix i've made lately. although if i had made the mix it probably would have been nearly all of "you're living all over me", plus a few others like "let it ride", "they always come", "the wagon", and "what else is new". after lou barlow left they weren't quite as good. the first j mascis and the fog record, "more light", is actually pretty good. i think it's better than most of the post-lou barlow era dinosaur jr stuff.
