Comment:
I have long considered Pearl Jam my generation's Who, though never moreso than when I decided tomix this tape....not only does Eddie Vedder sing with the same raw emotion and range that Roger Daltrey does, but his lyrics explore many of the
same themes that Pete Townsend's do - cultural
criticisms that come from a mostly outsider's
perspective, that deal with rock stardom, alienation, personal identity and the difficult
terrains of love....I have tried to pair-up songs
on this mix that either explore similar themes,
or that have similar music and "feel"....I'm not
sure how well I've succeeded, but it is an interesting listen, and as standard rock music goes,
contains alot of outstanding songs and performances.
Enjoy....Hank
