Comment:
As the title implies, I am an American currently in England, working on my master's degree. This tape is a collection of songs I have discovered since I've been here, songs I have rediscovered, and songs that are old favourites (comfort songs, if you will). You will probably notice the number of 'sun' and 'rain' songs. This is due to the fact that there is an abundance of rain and a lack of sun, which is greatly appreciated when it is visible, so these songs have often popped into my head, especially as I spend so much time standing at bus stops. There will be a volume 2 to this, eventually, especially since I screwed up making this one and had to do some editing. Thanks to Rob for the Big Star tune.Feedback:
i studied just up the road in Alsager, and the rain and the buses were certainly recurring themes for me too. is Mike Lloyd Music still in Stoke? i spent most of my grant (and virtually all a student loan) there! good 'elemental' mix, too.
...if Volume 2 is half as good as this, it'll be worth the wait
Thanks for the comments. I'm at Keele, so I have a bit of a ride too, besides all the waiting around for buses. I've not seen Mike Lloyd Music. Where is/was it? I've been hesitant to look for record shops, as I am afraid all of the money I don't have will go there.
Wow, Jana. This is truly lovely... I hope all's well over there. I promise to drop a line soon... try to do the same. :-)
looks great.
Good stuff.
Wow, this is wonderful. I especially love the Big Star to Dylan section that takes up most of the second side. That's just beautiful.
