Comment:

the mix tape i made last night. i didn't have the highest of hopes cos i was planning on making it for someone, until i just thought, screw it. i'll make it for myself, something that i personally like very much, and then give it to someone. * *

so it's going to stephanie, and i'm going to copy it and it'll go to scott too. * *
most of this stuff is quite new, or is something i never really listened to; i'm trying to re-introduce myself to neglected cds lately :). also, there is nothing past the letter n because i moved o-z to my bedroom and was too lazy to integrate. so there! * * *

vermont (the new album is f.ing beautiful. hoooleeee shit, it's perfect); grandpaboy (the new one!! it's FUCKING. FUCKNG. amazing.. better than p.w. solo stuff, more replacements-ey); baldwin brothers (w/ a girl from cibo matto doing vox, it's quite fun and dancy), grandaddy (they finally released a rarities cd! christ! now i'll have for the dishwasher on something other than a f.ing comp i always lose when i want it), josh rouse (guy from the vanilla sky sdtk, really surprised me with beautiful folky tunes and a little keyboardisation), mates of state (helLO!! anniversary, but somehow more fun); mascott (i fucking love this girl, love!), cub country (kurt and i both adore them, and i keep forgetting who's in it. we're going to see them th e.. er 28th), matt marque (darling voice, fantastic pop), colfax abbey (they opened for low once long ago, it's shoegazey stuff from mpls c. early 90s), jonah's oneline drawing (this is surprisingly sweet, simple, and beautiful. he does an a capella song on the cd which is perfect), busy signals (the cd is kind of hit-and-miss but there are a few amazing songs, this is the most upbeat and dancey-ish), camera obscura (not that emo band.. the pop band from glasgow. i luuurve them, when we went to see them at the 3rd note, the girl was sick so they mostly did instrumentation and i drank so much i passed out and had to be shaken awake by some bartenders and elliot almost crashed coming home), damien jurado, neal casal, bmx bandits (this is old, and better than the other i have); the church (i didn't expect the new one to turn out so nicely. i hope this charts well because they really really deserve it) and josh clayton, which didn't really fit completely and will soon be replaced by something that does. -(SORRY FOR ALL THE SWEARWORDS. I'M NOT THIS LEWD IN REAL LIFE) (i swear!)

Just great, Jaime. If it means anything, they are playing tracks from the new Church one on community radio and on Triple J here in oz...

Grandpaboy is indeed a mighty swell dose of Westerberg. The latest offering from the Church, Damien Jurado, Neal Casal... looks like a tasty slab of a mix. Good job!

I'm unfamiliar with most of this, but your enthusiasm for everything makes me feel like I must hear it!
