Comment:
Originally intended to be a "Concept Mix" entitled Pop Pour Les Hommes (cribbed from an abandoned title to a U2 album). This tape was supposed to feature songs that would please any loyal Esquire reader, but Beth Orton and Sleater-Kinney snuck in with the boys. Pulp, R.E.M., The Strokes, Weezer, The White Stripes, and others still capture the original theme, which I am now convinced is beyond the powers of my record collection.Feedback:
Awesome...awesome...awesome!
This mix baffles me, but I like it. What about The Smiths? The Faint? The Band? Big Star? Would those have worked? Pearl Jam? Air? Which magazine called "Moon Safari" the best album of the year or whatever back in the day? Was that Esquire?
Good job, DJ U. (This is a test.)
