Comment:
for kirsty's 18th birthday (scroll back to mix made for merski for her 17th pressie). two themes here, side a containing songs featuring the flute, or containing flute. kirsty's an ace flute player, and i thought i'd see whether flute had "made it" in the non classical streams. and it really hasn't. i could've done about three 120 minute tapes for the sitar, billions of hours of piano and violin, but the flute just doesn't cut it. i chose "flight of the bumble bee" for finish, even though it doesn't feature the flute because the last note has the flute piercing high above everything else. side b is about getting drunk, and drinking songs and the such...well, this is an 18th birthday tape! what did you expect??? anyway, i hope kirsty enjoys this one as much as the last one. she still plays last year's regularily, and if a tape lasts well for a year it's doing pretty good in my opinion!! oh yeah, the "fruitti" title-ing is in honour of the cheapest of cheap cask wines "fruity lexia"...from which the teenage cocktail "the bucket" is based on. RECIPE TIME: get one cask of fruity lexia, a can of pineapple chunks, a bottle of lemonade, a bottle of passionpop (cheap, crappy champagne like substance)...combine ingredients in a bucket...then either gather around, straws in hand and drink from the bucket...or, use cups if you want to appear classy. anyway...that's all for now kids.Feedback:
Hey Rosie, neat idea... and not a Jethro Tull song in sight... ;-)
Mix looks good to me, Rosie. And so does that recipe, I may have to try it...
