AUAA (Artists United Against Apartheid) for all you youngsters out there was a collective of artists arranged by Steven Van Zandt (AKA Little Steven) who at the time was best known for playing guitar with Bruce Springsteen (not acting in The Sopranos). Sun City was a resort built in South Africa that had attracted some big name artists (Queen being one) to play there and had finally brought mainstream attention to the apartheid situation. This was the time of big name tribute type albums so this recording came about. Probably the most diverse group of artists of all the different tribute type recordings of the time and certainly the most musically meaningful. I've always owned this on tape so when I got a new soundcard which makes it very easy to plug in a tape deck and record (SoundBlaster Audigy Platinum)I decided to make a disk of it, adding on some of my favorite tracks that relate to the situation. For those of you who don't know who Garland Jeffreys is, his 'Don't Call Me Buckwheat' album is a stone-classic. Another of those under-rated & under appreciated artists.Feedback:
You know Geoff, we've had our scrapes in the past but I must say this is a great mix and a greater idea. You actually know so much about music that I think sometimes I feel intimidated by your mixing prowess, seriously guy. Don't let it be said that I've never complimented you, because this is ace.

Hey Geoff...., going back thru' some of the mixes I've missed.....I agree with the take on the Sun City/Li'l Steve thing.....and the power of this album. Also, Garland Jeffreys.....I put him right beside Jo Jo Zep & the Falcons. Good stuff.
