i actually started laughing out loud when i saw the title...can you imagine a swan actually eating another swan?? hehehee, that would be funny...in a sick way. very nice mix btw.

I've seen it happen...In Vancouver at Stanley Park there is a place called Lost Lagoon which has 3 mating pairs of swans, which is about 2 pairs to many for the space. Of course their wings are clipped to keep them there. Last summer when one pair managed to hatch 4 amazing little babies the male of one of the other pairs killed at least 1 if not 2 of them. I actually saw 2 of them hatch and had kept tabs on them all during the spring and summer. Unfortunately it's normal behaviour when there are too many of them around. Another was eaten by a raccoon. The last baby was taken away by the park staff.

and BTW...Swans are very violent when protecting their nests. They are huge birds and when there wings are fully stretched out an awesome site to see. They males bit many a passer by who leaned to far over the protective netting to get a closer look.
