Comment:
i remember as a kid hearing people taling about how hip-hop was a trend. well, here we are and hip-hop culture is slowly dying the excesses of rap music. there are very few mainstream hip-hop artists that are keeping it alive anymore. hip-hop exists in very few mainstream sectors but when it does, it truly shines. so i compiled this little list of hip-hop past and present. hopefully, you like it. i think i do. not sure yet. just remember what krs-one once said: "rap is something that you do. hip-hop is something that you live!"
Feedback:
I'm fully down with this mix, especially the HBMS track...
yum
Many of my friends are hip-hop heads, but I gotta admit I've been fading from the scene for the past 5 years. Still, this mix really reminds me of how fucking great hip-hop can be! I might have to dig up my De la and Tribe discs and give them a spin again....
Any mix titled with a KRS quote gets automatic respect. Nice selections...
what a wonderful, wonderful disc. rad.
Since when was post-Reasonable Doubt Jay-Z considered hip-hop?
The Image - where is it from, North America? Fantastic culture jamming concept. Where can I see MORE.
