Comment:

This is an old school funk mix, volume 2 to follow next week. The guitar lick at the beginning of the Detroit Emeralds track was sampled by De La Soul, though it was sped up quite a bit. Anyway, the title was taken from a song by Ripple, that will probably be on Vol. 2. Enjoy!

If you want to know the Mandrill song was sampled by Eric B and Rakim and by The Avalanches. "Different Strokes" was sampled by De La Soul. "It's A New Day" by the Skull Snaps has been sampled by just about everyone and their mother, including: Public Enemy, The Pharcyde, ODB, DJ Shadow, Cornershop and others.

Thanks for the kind words, guys. I've got enough tracks for a second volume, but I don't think I'll have a chance to put it together until the week after next, when I'm on spring break. I'll post it when it's finished.
