Comment:

No fanfare here or anything, just a slightly revamped (and significantly improved) version of the first mix that I submitted to this site. I revised this only a couple of weeks after doing the initial mix but decided to finally post it in this form since so many people on this site have gotten this version of it. (This, of course, means that I'm under no obligation to actually write the tracks down for future trades--YES!!!) At any rate, this is, by a long shot, one of my favorite mixes that I've ever done. Title from the Stone Roses tune.

wow, this is great. my favourite palace song, as well. listening to it today made my usually stinking 45 min bus ride home seem like a relaxed stroll through eden.

okay, and now i'll actually comment on it. (as per rob's implicit request, this'll be one of those comments that borders on review, so i suggest that the uninterested go read something else.) this is a fan-f*cking-tastic mix (the asterisk's not for me, gentle readers, it's for you), and definitely my favorite of the recent package i received from rob. favorite tracks: "father's name is dad," "car," "tugboat," "oh esmerelda," "map ref ...," and "my favourite dress." this has been playing for fully half the drives i've taken since getting back in the same state as my car last week. for one of those trips, my mom was in the car with me, and that evening she asked me to burn her a copy of this. i'd say that's an indicater of the undeniable quality of this music if it bridges a 36 year generation gap. nice work, rob.

I was searching to see which versions of "Dark End of the Street" were most common, and stumbled across this, which I had previously missed. Wow. I especially love tracks 4-8(one of the most underrated Ryan Adams songs, in my opinion) and from 16-...Okay, from 16 to the end. Wow again.

Just got the heads up on this, Rob - looks fantastic, and I am really, really looking forward to hearing it! Actually, there are quite a few things here I don't know too well, and also, there are a lot of my favourite artists - The Wedding Present, Wire, Soft Boys, etc. The Stone Roses pick is one of my favourite, and that J&MC can't go wrong. Very excited, and thank you!

This is absolutely fantastic. I could stop right there but I won't. I will assume you assume which tracks I know. But, about half of it I didn't and I'm so loving my new discoveries. The opener is an absolute blinder ( always a good start ). 11 & 12 are currently rocking my world and the closer is wonderful, i may like it better than the original. The highest praise I can give it is it's been on my car stereo for 3 days now, and it aint gonna budge for a while.
