Comment:
Volume one of a two-part series. There are few bands who have captured an untapped part of my brain as much as this band. That's about all I can say, really.Feedback:
YEESSSSS!!! a dirty three mix! wow, wow, wow. wow. what's your fave d3 album? I'd say mine is definitely 'Ocean Songs'. The more abrasive, raw, scratchy, dirty three I also love, but this album just takes my head somewhere far, far away. Both mixes AMAZING.
Just beautiful. Warren played in Nick Cave's band when he was here last week, and he was amazing - it's funny how much emotion you can get out of a violin.
Thanks, folks. My favorite album of theirs is "Horse Stories", followed closely by "Whatever You Love, You Are" and "Ocean Songs", which are more or less tied for second. I know exactly what you mean about "Ocean Songs", though, Juan--it was the first album I heard of theirs (right when it came out) and it totally knocked me out in ways that I can't describe. And yeah, Sue, I agree--few things are more emotion-packed than Warren's violin.
Horse Stories is by far my favorite album from the D3, but everything they've done really amazes me. I can still recall the first hearing Horse Stories for the first time and being just simply blown away by its intensity. The live show we saw still stands as maybe the best show I've ever seen. Great job with these mixes, Rob! Have you heard Warren Ellis' new EP?
yea, a dirty three mix (i think everyone's said that thus far but...) very nice indeed, and i'll agree wholeheartedly on the "horse stories" favourite-ness, very well done rob.
