Comment:
and again. (justunder/notquite three years ago.) the scatchy tapes, the earnestness. it's like--the tapes i made myself, of kate bush...say, "the dreaming" and "wow." on the way back this evening it was all joni and kate and beth and even tori yes tori. and remembering the others i don't even like at all anymore--ani comes to mind. in seventh grade. and in the eighth grade, my social studies teacher, whose first name was thomas, mentioned kate bush. that kind of recommendation--it meant a lot to me. you know the weight, the sincerity of first listen, of falling out. the naivete and the hope in your grip. overcomes, at times, today's relative glibness. is it (kate bush, for instance) "good" or were you just so damn impressionable, so ready, relatively speaking, then? how wonderful. it can't even be compared exactly, to what i listen to today. that sort of thing--yes, you know. mm. first things, no, first loves. (and yes, this is bigtime digression from the idea of an f tape in the first place--i think of j, and high school earnestness, giddiness, more now.) "with liner notes and everything!" gosh and an ee. the crackle in the goddamn tapes. the east river pipe, i mean the drunk sad song, is all awash in imminent radio scatter. fuzz. it's beautiful, to me only, maybe. my favorite trying, not that kind of trial. i think of chelsea.Feedback:
Lovely. Like your Tugboat Annie picks esp.
that unbelievable truth adds the extra sense of hopelessness that really pushes this mix into the "very good" zone.
the desperation you allude to as being important in mixes at times--i liked that.
some wonderful songs. and thank you for your commentary, it really helps set the mood. Kate Bush is still a goddess though :)
