Comment:

This 90 minute tape is mixed genre (mostly indie stuff). The songs fit together not by style of music, or similarity of artists, but because each song is quite good, holds up to careful listening, and I'm pretty sure nothing here was a hit single.

In listing a sample of Unwound and Grandaddy at the end of each side, what I mean is that after all was said and done, there was a minute or so of dead air. Not enough room for a song, so instead just a bit of one. I filled the end of the first side with the beginning drone of "We Invent You," serving as a kind of clensing of the palette before Side B. "Lawn and So On" has the great bit of insect-wilderness vibe to end the tape completely.

I consider myself new to music, so I suspect this tape has an amateur feel to it. But that's okay! It pleases me. :)

don't sell yourself short, obscurity doesn't equal good tastes, the mix isn't amatureish, it looks good to me
