So, I'm having trouble going to sleep, and I get to go home for spring break in two days. Somewhere between pondering my own existence and what exactly was in that pot pie I ate at the cafeteria earlier, I just wondered that if I could be anywhere with anyone, where exactly would I be and with who? Thinking about home, it didn't take long to think of this dusty old bar/concert venue that's right on the beach. Having never been old enough to get in to concerts, I thought about how great it would be to be able rent out the place for a night, invite loads of friends, have no drinking age, and a certain girl of my dreams would be my date. I'd have most of these bands show up to play, while people just came in and out, danced, shot pool, played volleyball, etc.. Of course, every time all my friends get together, drama ensues... so somehow in this dream, all my friends would be with their dream girl or guy as well, and everyone would just somehow get along (basically we'd all just be happy at once). And, with mirror ball and all, we'd shag, swing, and slow dance into the wee hours of the night, head out to the pier to watch the sunrise, then pass out in the dunes. As I look at these songs, I realize that this is more the kinda mix I woulda made about 2 or 3 years ago (ahhh high school). Its not really stuff I can listen to a lot these days, but they would be perfect for such a lovely evening, and would maybe make up for memories I've always wanted to have with some of them (I've always wanted to slow dance to 'wonderful tonite' with a certain girl). So that's my dream... kinda simple, I guess... but really that's all I'd need to keep me happy for a while... friends, good tunes, and a beautiful place to have them... i miss home ;)

This is a pretty sad mix... though it is wonderful in many ways. And for my Hoist dollars, I would have gone with "If I Could" for the sadness reason. Though the title is great as it is.
