Comment:

For a girl, to give a shadow of an idea of what music I like. I don't think she even likes any music with lyrics. Best transitions: Buddy Holly-Pixies-Radiohead-Cub. The pretension of radiohead next to the joyful simplicity of cub is beautiful. The Michael Jackson/homie transition is nice too.I tried to make the mix as "stimulating" as possible, jerking around feelings and going for big contrasts. Sometimes it made for weak transitions. (Arrested Development/White Stripes)
Also, I did this inadvertantly, but the first two songs are country and rap. I'm gonna make a mix called "Anything but Country and Rap" sometime. Whoever uses that as an answer to "What kind of music do you like?" needs a good lesson.

Nice variety of stuff. I too own albums/CDs by Arrested Development, Cub and Michael Jackson, and I love them all (almost) equally. On a side note, whenever I see the title of that White Stripes song, I think of Zoolander, one of the funniest films I've seen in a long time.

I too look forward to seeing your "Anything but..." mix. My other favorite discussion is the inverse - when people say they like Jazz - and then go on to mention some ridiculous music that has absolutely nothing what-so-ever to do with that genre...URGH! A (CONSTANT) Music War!!!
